Poem

Grieving to Purify

by Simon Kellogg

Day and night remember to console the world as she cries out

The climate of this race throws conflict on her face

Complaints rise against her thunderous yell

But spirituality recognizes every crack, cough, and wail…

She is grieving to purify!

Through this world flows divine light

So be still because weeping may endure through the night but a more moral humanity full of joy

Will come in the morning light!

The truth is, there are things happening all over the world that we don’t agree with and can’t comprehend. The truth is that no matter how much money we have, some things are out of our control. No matter how much fame or fortune we have, some things are out of our control.

Through it all, this world will be better after the storm. At first I just hoped that the world would become more loving but recently it became a daily affirmation. I subconsciously believed our truth and our hope could not coexist like “I hope this will happen but the truth is...” Now, I open myself to the Divine flow of goodness, ideas, and substance. The goal is to “align our truth with our hope” using our own actions to create a better future.
